For the Days Ahead
5" x 7" Greeting Card, poem inside, comes with plain white envelope
Story of the poem:
D. Colin wrote this poem in 2020. There was a call for poetry to be put on the windows of a local gallery that expressed hope. For all that happened in 2020 and the continued need for hope in this world, the intention is for these words to bring some encouragement.
Poem:
For the days ahead
I left this poem open
just for us to climb
into when we've lost
our keys, to let the air
in when we’ve lost our
breath and the light when
we’ve forgotten the sun,
to serve as a mirror, see
our own reflections
holding each other up
On days when hope dwindles,
know this window is here
to remind us,
it's not all gone,
that it never went away, even
if we had to press ourselves
against the glass to find out
the hope we’re waiting on
is us.
